From Frustration to Fulfillment: Why We Started To New Beginnings
Planning a wedding is supposed to be one of the most joyful and exciting times of your life — the promise of forever, the merging of families, the celebration of your love. But when my husband and I were planning our own wedding, it wasn’t all champagne toasts and happy tears. If we’re being honest, much of it felt stressful, frustrating, and — at times — even disappointing.
We found ourselves asking questions we never thought we’d have to ask:
- Why aren’t vendors calling us back?
- Why does it feel like we’re being talked down to when we’re the ones getting married?
- Why does no one seem to care about our story — about what we want?
From miscommunications to lack of follow-through, from cookie-cutter advice to vendors who clearly didn’t see us as people but as just another transaction — we walked away from our own wedding day happy to be married, but disappointed in how the planning journey had unfolded. We felt unseen, unheard, and like we had to fight for every bit of joy in the process.
That experience planted the seed for something bigger.
What if we could take everything we wished we had during that process — support, empathy, organization, someone who genuinely cared — and build something that would give future couples the kind of experience we had dreamed of?
And that’s when To New Beginnings was born.
